OLD BUSINESS

Meeting Facility. George has arranged for the December and January WWCIC meetings to be held at KLSY/KIXI studios in Bellevue and subsequent meetings if desired. The only interruption may be when the stations move to new studios in the Factoria area which is planned for early next Spring. George suggested we consider KLSY/KIXI a semi-permanent home from now on even though we may want to meet at other locations from time to time. The next meeting is Tuesday, December 9th at 9:30 am. Click here for directions.

Navy Radar Interference. Chief Petty Officer Draper from the US Navy introduced himself and stated that his office would be represented at future meetings. The recent interference to public safety radio operations in the Puget Sound area was discussed at great length. CPO Draper stressed that the Navy would like to be notified immediately of this type of interference and be given as much information as possible so they can identify the problem or eliminate the Navy as culprit and bring closure to the interference. It was generally agreed that any future interference to public safety should be reported to either the FCC Watch Officer at 202-632-6975 or the FCC Seattle Office at 425-820-6271.

WWCIC Web Site. Alan has had the web site up and running for about a month now. He will add a list of members and the FCC Wach Office phone number. Let him know of any other suggestions.

800 MHz Cross Border Interference. Spencer gave an overview of recent events. Valley Comm installed a new antenna at McDonald and testing verified a 25dB front to back ratio. Unfortunately, Canada reported there was no improvement. Valley Comm then shut down the two interferring channels and have now proposed a frequency reuse plan to FCC which has not yet been approved.

NEW BUSINESS

KLSY-FM Coverage. George briefed that KLSY 92.5 FM has lost all coverage from Mt. Vernon north to the Canadian border. Attempts are being made to resolve this issue with Canada.

FCC Items of Interest. Dennis Anderson reported the following:

The meeting adjourned at 11:25.
