Dates for WWCIC meetings for 2008   Meetings will be held on the 2nd Tuesday like always, with no meeting in August  .  The current location for regular meetings is the Washington State Patrol Office in Bellevue.

Business Reports

Chairman’s opening comments: Chairman George Bisso called the meeting to order at 9:42 am. Introductions were made around the tables. Attendance today: 10.

Adoption of draft minutes of last meeting: Meeting minutes for the October meeting were approved with the correction of the beginning balance in savings from $1884.83 to $684.83.

Secretary-Treasurer Finance and Correspondence Reports: Checking account starting balance $508.46, deposit of the $500 returned from Semiahmoo, ending balance of $1008.46. Starting balance in Savings $684.99, interest for the month of June $.17, ending balance of $685.16.

Committee Reports

Technical Committee Report:  Suggestions for technical presentations at meetings are always welcome. (OPEN)

Web Site Report:  Nothing new and no problems noted. (OPEN)

FCC Report: The Seattle office will be down to one person when Mike leaves at the end of the year. They are trying to arrange to get staff from other offices for temporary assignments until the vacant positions are filled permanently.  http://www.fcc.gov/eb/  (Open)

 

Old Business

150/450 MHz IX: An increase in interference that appears as a wide band signal similar to TV sync buzz or HS data has been noted across the land mobile spectrum. (OPEN)

FRS Issues: Nothing new to report. (OPEN)

700 MHz Planning & Meetings:  No report. The 700 MHz web sites are www.region43.org for Washington State, and www.region35.org, for Oregon. (OPEN)  

800 MHz IX and Nextel issues: No report. (OPEN)

Technical Seminars at WWCIC Meetings:  Suggestions for future seminars are welcome. (OPEN)

XM and Sirius Satellite Radio News: They are still operating at a loss,  (OPEN)

APCO business or reports and general frequency coordination news: No report. http://www.apcowa.org/  (OPEN)

License-free or Spread-Spectrum technology issues: No new problems. (OPEN)

4.9 GHz: Nothing new, the Boeing systems are running smoothly. (OPEN)

Amateur radio activity: Amateurs in the United Kingdom and South Africa have filled lawsuits over plans to implement BPL in the respective countries. (OPEN)

New Business

None.

Items of Information

Action Communications has a new company president, Tony Cheng. After 30 years of hard work Perry Wheeler is planning on getting more personal time in and letting some new talent handle the business aspects but will continue to play a role in the technical arena.

Steve Pennock from Sea-Port Technical Sales attended today’s meeting. Sea-Port represents manufactures of RF and fiber optic solutions. They deal primarily with OEM and defense contractors but may have what you need.  http://www.seaporttech.com/
